Analysis of fluidization and shear conditions in rotor fluidized beds in dry and wet condition

This project focuses on the influence of liquids and particle shape on particle dynamics in a dense sheared gas-solid flow. Based on experimental data, models will be developed and validated which describe the influence of process and material parameters on particle dynamics during granulation and coating. For this propose the CFD-DEM modelling approach will be extended. Using a rotor fluidized bed as an example, detailed experimental investigations of particle dynamics will be carried out using a novel MPT measurement technique under dry and moist conditions (spraying of liquids).
