Due the rising matter of particles with a small range of size processes were needed to generate these systems. With common production processes like precipitation or wet grinding it cannot warranted, that the particles are smaller than 1 µm. It is not possible to separate fine particles in high concentrated suspensions with a high selectivity with established wet classification processes. With the crossflow-classification, a method to classify particles in a range of 0.1 to 1 µm is researched.
